Welion New Energy has reached a new milestone in Europe. Two co-located photovoltaic energy storage projects in Hungary have been successfully connected to the grid. The projects support solar power plants owned by Elektro Energy Kft., a Hungarian electrical engineering company. On-site commissioning is complete and both systems are now officially operational.
Standardized Station Design Built for Local Grid Rules
Welion developed a highly standardized station configuration based on its understanding of the European market and the grid-access requirements of Distribution System Operators. The projects use Welion's 522 product solution. Each 1.5MWh station is equipped with three 522kWh Spower II semi-solid-state energy storage cabinets.
The Spower II delivers high safety and long cycle life. Combined with flexible PCS configuration, this standardized setup meets the strict regulatory demands of local DSOs. Welion says European customers are showing growing recognition and trust in the solution.
Flexible PCS Configuration for Frequency Regulation
For the Power Conversion System, the project uses two Inpower 375kW PCS cabinets. The system meets basic energy market requirements while also responding flexibly to local frequency regulation needs. With an ultra-fast response time of 20 milliseconds, it has passed strict frequency regulation market tests and provides strong support for grid frequency stability.
Welion Europe President Visits Project Site
During commissioning, Mr. Yu Haodong, President of Welion Europe, visited the site in person. He reviewed the project's progress and system operation, and praised the professional capabilities and delivery results of the project team. His visit demonstrates Welion's commitment to the European market and its focus on localized services.
