CAPE TOWN, South Africa, June 19, 2026 – At the Africa Energy Forum 2026, Sunwoda presented a complete range of energy storage products covering cells, utility-scale systems, and commercial & industrial (C&I) storage. The company held detailed talks with global energy partners on how storage technology can help speed up Africa's energy infrastructure development.
As renewable energy grows across the continent, storage is becoming essential for keeping supply stable and grids flexible. Tough operating conditions—like high heat, sand, dust, and salt spray—also require storage systems to be safer and more reliable. To meet these needs, Sunwoda highlighted its 261 kWh C&I storage system and larger utility-scale solutions for industrial parks, commercial buildings, grid support, and renewable integration projects.

Built for Tough Environments

Drawing on years of battery R&D and system integration experience, Sunwoda's storage systems use multi-layer safety designs that protect from the cell level all the way up to the full system. The products carry an IP55 rating and come with smart thermal management, allowing them to run steadily in hot, dusty, and coastal settings. This makes them a more dependable choice for local energy projects.

Wide Range of Battery Cells

On the cell side, Sunwoda showed a full lineup ranging from 72 Ah, 85 Ah, 102 Ah, 280 Ah, and 314 Ah up to large-format 588 Ah and 684 Ah cells, covering both C&I and utility-scale needs. As the market moves toward bigger capacity, higher safety, and longer cycle life, the company continues investing in cell innovation—improving materials, structural design, and smart manufacturing to boost overall performance. From cell development and production processes to quality management systems, Sunwoda builds reliability across the entire product lifecycle, providing a solid base for large-scale storage projects.

Industry Talks and Future Plans

During the forum, Sunwoda joined industry panels and closed-door meetings with energy developers, grid operators, investors, and supply chain partners to discuss Africa's energy transition. Conversations focused on the coordinated growth of renewables and storage, grid modernization, and energy security in industrialization—highlighting how storage can strengthen energy resilience and support industrial growth.

What's Next

Going forward, Sunwoda says it will keep focusing on technology innovation and global expansion, supplying safe and reliable storage products for the worldwide energy transition and contributing to green energy development in Africa and beyond.
