Shanghai, June 3, 2026 – At SNEC 2026, HiTHIUM introduced what it calls the world's first native 8-hour long-duration energy storage (LDES) system: the ∞Power 6.9MWh ESS. The company also unveiled its new ∞Cell 650Ah large-capacity battery and the ∞Power 10+MWh product solution.
As renewable energy expands globally, storage durations are moving from the standard 2–3 hours toward 4–8 hours. LDES is becoming essential for integrating renewables, improving grid flexibility, and keeping power systems stable and safe. To meet the growing demand for cost-effective, reliable, and scalable LDES solutions, HiTHIUM has built a complete technology chain—from purpose-designed battery cells to integrated storage platforms—backed by its strengths in cost control, service quality, and safety standards.
Purpose-Built for 8 Hours: Redefining LDES Value
During the exhibition, HiTHIUM's technical team gave detailed presentations on LDES trends and product innovation. In a keynote titled "Long-Duration Powering, Green Energy Enduring: Ultra-Long-Duration Energy Storage System Solutions and New Product Debut," Product Director Ye Zi noted that as renewable penetration rises, extreme weather events become more frequent, the "duck curve" deepens, and grid stability pressures mount, LDES is quickly becoming essential infrastructure for power system security.
∞Power 6.9MWh – Powered by the world's first 1300Ah native LDES cell, delivering stable 8-hour discharge in a standard 20-foot container with a 25-year design life.
To address critical industry challenges, HiTHIUM introduced the ∞Power 6.9MWh 8-hour LDES system. At its heart is the world's first 1300Ah battery cell designed specifically for LDES applications. This cell-level native design enables the system to achieve over 6.9MWh capacity and stable 8-hour output within a standard 20-foot container. Built for up to 25 years of operation, the system supports both side-by-side and back-to-back configurations, helping reduce land use and construction costs. Environmental features include low-GWP coolant, leakage prevention, and recyclable components. Safety is ensured through a multi-layer protection system covering cell-level safety, active and passive container protection, and intelligent BMS management.
New ∞Cell 650Ah Makes Global Debut
Another highlight was the launch of HiTHIUM's ∞Cell 650Ah large-capacity battery and the ∞Power 10+MWh product solution. Backed by strong R&D capabilities in both cells and systems, HiTHIUM continues to update its product line with a customer-first approach. These new additions expand the company's large-capacity battery and system portfolio, improving project returns through higher energy density and better system integration, while offering more options for different applications—strengthening HiTHIUM's global position.
Beyond these launches, HiTHIUM showcased a full range of products: the ∞Cell 1300Ah, 1175Ah, and 587Ah cells; the ∞Power 6.25MWh 2–4h ESS; the ∞Cell N162Ah and ∞Power N2.28MWh 1h sodium-ion ESS; ∞Block 261kWh and 418kWh commercial and industrial cabinets; and residential products like the HeroEE MaxPower 8 AIO and HeroEE16.
Expanding in Southeast Asia: 1GWh Deal in Vietnam
During SNEC 2026, HiTHIUM signed a three-year, 1GWh strategic cooperation agreement with DSS Solar for Vietnam's residential, commercial, and industrial energy storage markets. The partnership pairs HiTHIUM's advanced products, manufacturing expertise, and supply chain capabilities with DSS Solar's local channels and project development services, aiming to speed up deployment across Vietnam and support the region's energy transition and green growth.
Built on a dual-technology roadmap combining lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, HiTHIUM has created a complete product lineup covering 1- to 8-hour applications. Going forward, the company will keep LDES as a strategic priority, driving innovation and global expansion to accelerate large-scale deployment and support the worldwide shift to green energy.
